What does it truly mean to carry someone to Jesus? In Mark 2:1-12, we encounter one of the most vivid and compelling pictures of soul winning in all of Scripture. Four determined men refused to let any obstacle stand between their paralyzed friend and the healing power of Christ. The crowd was too thick, so they climbed to the roof. The roof was in the way, so they tore it open. Nothing stopped them. What strikes us most is that when Jesus looked up and saw the man being lowered through the ceiling, the Bible tells us He responded to their faith, not just the paralyzed man's faith alone. This is a profound reminder that our belief, our effort, and our willingness to act on behalf of someone else can play a real role in their encounter with God. The lesson for us is both humbling and stirring. There are people in our communities who need someone willing to get under the weight of their burden and carry them. When we feel that weight, when we let the reality of someone's lostness move us to action, we become the kind of soul winners who change eternity.
